"Nutella" Balls

Nutella fans will LOVE these tasty hazelnut cocoa bites. A treat that is relatively low in sugar, contains protein and is gluten and dairy-free.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups hazelnuts⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 3 tbls. maple syrup⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 3 tbls. cocoa powder⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Pinch salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C and line a baking tray with parchment paper. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  2. Roast the hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes until toasted. Remove them and rub with a clean towel to remove most of the skins. Process them in a food processor to chop them. Set a handful aside for later.

  3. Add the hazelnuts (leaving the ones you set aside for later) and remaining ingredients to the food processor and process well until you have a dough consistency. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  4. Roll the dough into golf-ball sizes then roll them in the chopped hazelnuts you set aside. Leave in the fridge for 20 minutes to set. Enjoy!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These should be kept in the fridge and will stay fresh for about a week.⠀
