Nutella fans will LOVE these tasty hazelnut cocoa bites. A treat that is relatively low in sugar, contains protein and is gluten and dairy-free.
Ingredients
1.5 cups hazelnuts⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3 tbls. maple syrup⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3 tbls. cocoa powder⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 tsp vanilla essence⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pinch salt
Method
Preheat the oven to 190C and line a baking tray with parchment paper. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Roast the hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes until toasted. Remove them and rub with a clean towel to remove most of the skins. Process them in a food processor to chop them. Set a handful aside for later.
Add the hazelnuts (leaving the ones you set aside for later) and remaining ingredients to the food processor and process well until you have a dough consistency. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Roll the dough into golf-ball sizes then roll them in the chopped hazelnuts you set aside. Leave in the fridge for 20 minutes to set. Enjoy!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These should be kept in the fridge and will stay fresh for about a week.⠀
